Fondue with gruyere cheese

A classic recipe for a French Fondue

Ingredients (for 6 people):

  • 400 gr. gruyere cheese (cut into pieces)
  • 300 gr. Emmenthal (cut into pieces)
  • 11/3  cup. kirs
  • 11/3cup. dry white wine
  • 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 4 tsp. sweet hot spices
  • A little grated nutmeg
  • Little ground white pepper
  • 15 slices white bread cut into small cubes (without crust)

Cooking Instructions:

  •  Cut garlic in half and rub the pan with it. Place the saucepan on the stove at low temperature. Add cheese cut into small pieces  and lemon juice. Then stir with a wooden spoon to create a thick mixture.
  • Continue stirring and add the wine, kirs and spices. Raise temperature. Stir until cheese melts.
  • When the broth is ready, place the saucepan on the burner, at  low temperatures to keep the cheese in a melted state. If you see that the cheese goes to thicken, increase the temperature of the burner.

Serving:

Offer a basket of bread topped with tidbits kirs or brandy or greased with a little butter and garlic. For wine, drink from that used in the preparation of the broth.

Salty cake with gruyere cheese

A different proposal for a famous recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 red raw meal
  • 3 eggs
  • 400 gr. grated Gruyere cheese
  • 3 / 4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 peppers in small cubes
  • 70 gr. green olives, pitted
  • 6 slices chopped
  • 1 cup drained yogurt
  • Salt

Cooking Instructions:

Beat the eggs with yogurt, vegetable oil and a pinch of salt. Add the flour and then the cheese, ham, olives and chopped peppers. Butter and lightly flour an oblong form and put the cake mix in.
Bake at 180 ° C for 50 minutes.

Tart with cheese, raisins and cinnamon

A recipe pretty easy, different and delicious!

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 2 1 / 2 cup. flour, all purpose
  • 1 / 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup. butter (cold, cut into pieces)
  • Iced water

For the filling:

  •  2 eggs
  • 100 gr. sugar
  • 200 gr. grated Gruyere cheese
  • 200 gr. sour cream
  • 100 gr. blond raisins
  • 1 / 4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • Some pepper

Cooking Instructions:

  •  Make the dough. Mix the flour, salt and sugar. Add cold butter and rub the mixture with your fingers until it becomes like little grains. Add water, stir and knead to form a mass. Wrap with a plastic membrane and leave the dough in the fridge for an hour.
  • With a rolling pin roll dough on a floured work surface to a thin circle.  Put it in a round nonstick pan, cover with the foil and put on top dried beans. Bake for 15 minutes in the oven.
  • With a hand mixer beat eggs, sugar and cheese until you achieve a creamy texture. Add the cream, raisins, pepper and cinnamon and stir well.
  • Pour the filling on the tart. Put in back to the oven and bake for 25 minutes

Roll puff pastry with ham and gruyere cheese

Easy and very tasty recipe! Try it!

Ingredients (1 roll):

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 10 slices
  • 300 grams Gruyere
  • 500 ml milk
  • 2  tablespoons flour
  • 2  tablespoon butter
  • 1 beaten egg for spreads


Cooking Instructions:

  • Melt butter and add flour and stir until browned.
  • Add the warm milk and stir until it thickens.
  • Once the cream thickens, add the grated Gruyere. Stir just until melted and remove from heat.
  • We test if it is salt (depending on the cheese) and add as much as we want and some pepper if desired.
  • Let the mixture cool.
  • Since we have good pastry thawed, cut it in half lengthwise to create two sheets.
  • Spread one piece of a layer of bechamel (cold) and leaving a margin around it.
  • Spread half the slices and poured the remaining bechamel, and then the remaining slices.
  • Brush with water all around another piece of foil and place on top by pressing with fingers to close the roll well.
  •  Brush with egg and bake at 180oC until golden brown.
